The City Council has announced a new grant program aimed at enhancing initiatives within the minority community. This program will provide funding for local organizations working to promote education, health, and economic development.
Starting this January, eligible organizations can apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $20,000. The initiative is designed to empower community groups and support projects that address specific needs within minority populations.
City officials emphasized the importance of investing in the diversity of the community. They stated that the program aims to ensure equitable access to resources and opportunities.
This grant program follows last year’s successful community forums aimed at understanding the challenges faced by minority groups in the area. Feedback from these discussions helped shape the current initiative, demonstrating the city’s commitment to fostering inclusivity.
Organizations interested in applying must submit their proposals by February 15, 2026. For more information on application requirements and guidelines, residents can visit the city’s official website or contact the Community Development Office.
